Burning and hot feet may develop due to an injury or medical condition. Symptoms may be constant or come and go, vary in intensity and be accompanied by other sensations such as pins and needles or numbness or both. Burning feet may also be referred to as tingling feet or paresthesia. In most cases, burning foot pain is nothing major to worry about but there are a few situations where it may be a sign of a serious condition such as a TIA (transient ischaemic attack), stroke or blood clot. Burning pain in feet that develops suddenly should always be seen as a medical emergency to rule out these possible causes.
